The star is the 17th card in the tarot, coming right after the tower card. The tower is a card of upheaval and necessary destruction, so the star coming after sends a message of divine reassurance after darkness. Although it can be common to pull this card when you're currently going through a difficult time, the Star can indicate that the storm will pass and things will eventually get better.
